Deeg Moustache

'Deeg Moustache'

I was traveling to visit Fatepur Sikri, Akbar the Great's beautiful city near Agra in India when I came across a large and ancient water tank. While I was walking around it taking photographs my friend Virendra was speaking to some locals and learnt that the Deeg Water Festival was on that day. As I had always wanted to visit this festival we changed our plans and went to the festival. This gentleman was one of the people I spoke to at the festival and as he had such a fantastic smile I just had to draw his portrait. This portrait is part of my 'Indian Faces' portrait series.
