The Client
Computer Repairman, Marc Arna, provides in-home computer support to customers throughout the Chicago and North West Indiana area.
The Challenge
After successfully completing several cartoon images for the business web site Marc asked me to produce an animation in the same style to compliment the images already being used. Several initial ideas didn't work but proved useful as they allowed us to better define what would work well.
The Solution
I had created a Chicago skyline image as a general background and it became obvious that this would work well as the animation backdrop. After generating some foreground images including the kerbstones the path of the ambulance passing repeatedly across the scene and getting closer to the foreground was sketched out and approved. To add some interest it was also decided to have the driver give a 'thumbs up' gesture and when the ambulance drove away the company logo initially stayed in place before racing off after the ambulance.
The Result
After drafting several initial ideas for the animation and discussing them with Marc I had a much better grasp on what would work well for the website. This resulted in a much better solution that Marc is very happy with.
